To initiate/conduct special studies for improving refinery and petrochemical facilities or operations and provide specialized technical/consulting service in reognized fields. In accordance with procedures and in compliance with quality standards, to optimize operations
Minimum Requirements
1. Education:
Bachelor Degree in Chemical/Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineer from reputable university
2. Experience:
More than 12 years of experience, preferably in the refinery or petrochemical industry for corrosion control
Thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods and design details.
Working knowledge of Company standards
Proven knowledge in corrosion management and material selections in refinery or petrochemical environment.
Knowledge in water treatment will be a plus.
To prepare a schedule of work and provide direction for the preparation of designs, processes and related data for very complex engineering problems to ensure that work is completed as per deadline and engineering standards.
3. Responsibilities:
Planning and task allocation: To prepare a schedule of work and provide direction for the preparation of designs, processes and related date for very complex engineering problems to ensure that work is completed as per deadline and engineering standards.
Engineering Studies: Lead analysis of data pertinent to complex engineering problems, with respect to scope, economic value, long range planning and budgetary consideration in order to support the development and formulate the basis for engineering studies in any of several basic or special engineering fields.
Provide technical advice to prevent corrosion and assure equipment reliability.
Conduct analysis/investigation on all corrosion problems and metal failures taking place as a result of corrosion and provide effective technical advice/support on corrosion control, causes and remedies of failures related to corrosion.
Prepare and review coating and lining procedures for new or deteriorated surfaces.
Monitor and make recommendations for further improvements of the plant-wide cathodic protection system and witness the installation and commissioning of the new CP project.
Evaluate the internal corrosion in various flow streams plant-wide as per requirements by utilizing coupons and probes.
Review and/or recommend procedures for chemical cleaning of plant. Undertake tasks assigned by department.
Proposals Development & Project Mgt.: Participate or lead proposal development for highly complex engineering projects, including scope definition, interrelationship, physical solution definition and cost estmate and supervise project execution to ensure that project is implemented as per plan.
Process Improvement: Recommend new refinery and petrochemical installations or modifications in order to improve existing facilities and standardization and asset integrity
Reporting: Prepare, review or consolidate reports of investigation or engineering studies in order to support Management decision – making, and support plant trouble shootings.
Coaching: Provide coaching to lower levels engineers and supervise their work to ensure proper transfer of skilss and work performance as per standards.
Others: Lead or participate corrosion or material selection related integrity assessment and provide necessary countermeasures and recommendations. in addition to conduct studies and analysis not to limit to the following :
