Minimum Requirements
1. Completion of Instrument Diploma or Higher Technical Secondary Education (12 years) or equivalent.
2. 8 years experience in the operation and maintenance of Instrument equipment in the oil refining or petrochemical industry, including at least 3 years supervisory experience.
3. Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
Purpose and Scope
Supervises the Instrument installations, Commissioning and subsequent maintenance, repair and testing activities of all Instrument equipment in assigned area of the IGD Project.
Duties Performed
Directs and supervises the activities of assigned personnel, performs the Instrument Maintenance activities in assigned area of the IGD Project.
Directs and supervises Instrument maintenance in assigned area of the IGD Project includes the installation, repair and testing of Instrument equipment. Ensures that work is performed efficiently and safely in accordance with laid down standards, practices, methods and safety codes and with strict ‘permit to work’ system.
Ensures adequate availability of adequate craftsmen, spare parts, materials, tools and equipment. Includes reviewing needs, ordering spares, preparing workshop orders, initiating purchase requests for supervisor’s approval.
Participates in the diagnosis and repair of major faults and breakdowns.
Provides information during the commissioning, preparation of planned maintenance programs and ensures proper implementation of relevant parts for the Section.
Supervises the installation of new Plant and arranges for its commissioning.
Compiles and submits technical work and breakdown reports as and when required.
Provides opportunities for training and development of employees under his direction (with emphasis on UAE Nationals) and assesses their progress, this includes on-the-job training, counseling and proper work delegation.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Latitude
Reports to Lead Instrument Engineer – commissioning. Performs duties in accordance with established procedures, policies and technical standard. Work is subject to review and daily follow-up.
Supervisory Responsability
Supervises: Instrument Technicians assigned to IGD Project commissioning & subsequent maintenance.
