Position Description:
• Supervises the activities of assigned Maintenance personnel. Performs supervisory functions and exercises financial authority at the department head level as established by Management.
• Coordinates the scheduling of all maintenance activities for the Mine. Includes re-scheduling backlogs, setting lead times to meet deadlines, and adjusting schedules to meet operational needs. Develops and adheres to preventative maintenance schedules. Ensures that maintenance requirements complement operational requirements.
• Monitors maintenance costs against budget and provides commentary against variances as required.
• Produces daily and monthly maintenance reports for management information and action.
• Supervises the department’s implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) programs. Attends and provides input to strategy and policy development and review meetings; ensures that the promotion of the company’s policies and procedures in the Maintenance department is effective and monitors activities to ensure compliance. Participates in Incident Response and Command activities, reviews and comments on incident reports and carries out independent investigations of all accidents and near misses involving own staff or facilities.
• Ensures that all contractors/consultants are fully briefed on the Company’s HSE regulations and signs accordingly during contract signing. Provides independent advice and comments on HSE issues to improve Company programs.
• Supervises and participates in the training of Saudi nationals assigned to his department.
• Performs other similar or related duties such as researching new and improved methods or equipment for mine maintenance, preparing annual operating and capital maintenance budget, preparing mechanical and civil engineering designs, administering damage and loss insurance claims, etc.
Minimum Requirements:

• BSc. in Mining / Mechanical.
Experience:
• 10 years’ mining maintenance experience, including supervisory experience.
Language:

• Prepares bench plans and ore haulage using SURPAC and AutoCAD software.
• Prepares daily, monthly and yearly production schedules with close liaisons with geology and plant departments to supply reliable and practical production plans.
• Develops yearly production schedule and operation requirements for budget estimates.
• Carries out detailed cost analysis for all mining activities correlated with similar international mining operation to provide the mine management with all required measurements to minimize the operation costs.
• Conducts regular and routine statistical and economic analysis concerning production and operations, which reflect the actual performance of the mine.
• Supervises the daily performance of the mine contractor to ensure safety operation and required ore production.
• Analysis and maintains an accurate database of mineral distribution on bench basis to direct operation to provide the crusher with required grade and tonnage.
• Reviews and discusses the available geological and technical data to update the pit designs.
• Prepares required spreadsheets with mine data and statistics and cost information using the SURPAC design and evaluation software.
• Prepares a variety of monthly reports on operation and production in standard manner to reflect the actual mine operation performance.
• Carries out pit designs and economic analysis to the satellite prospects with the available data to outline their potentiality.

• The OHSE superintendent is responsible for coordinating and providing oversight on all environmental and occupational health matters from MGBM. This includes providing technical support and advice to senior management and development and implanting environmental and occupational health program for all affiliates.
