Primary Equipment Technician


Minimum Requirements:

ITI or Diploma in the field of Electrical.

Minimum 3 years direct experience on maintenance and installation, erection testing/commissioning of generator and power transformers, dry type transformers, rectifier transformers, All Type of Circuit Breaker, Instrument Transformer, Battery & Chargers.

Through knowledge in maintenance of SWGR & secondary Equipments. Should have worked in Megger, Freja, SMART etc.

Proactive, self-motivated, average communication skills, flexible, change agent, can-do attitude

Able to maintenance of All power equipments equipped in power plant & utilities. The preventive maintenance of all types and makes of battery chargers and UPS.


Duties Performed

Should be able to complete field services including preventive, corrective and breakdown, testing, inspection, servicing and repair of LV/HV Motors, LV/HV generator and Dry Type transformers and rectifier transformers, neutral grounding resistors.

Testing & Commissioning of CT,PT,CVT, MCCB, VCB, ACB, temperature indicators, Bucholz relays, sudden pressure relays, pressure relief device

Should be support the complete testing of the transformer such as turns ratio test, winding resistance, insulation power factor test of windings and bushings, IR and PI of windings, winding excitation currents suing doble test equipment, testing of buchholz relays function, testing of insulating oil, testing of BCTs

Should be able to perform preventive and corrective maintenance of dry type transformers, rectifier transformers & Oil filtration of Transformers upto 380kv. Should be able to erect, test and commission oil filled transformers up to and including 133/266 MVA capacity, including installation, assembly, oil filling and filtration, testing, cable and bus duct connection, testing of interlock, alarm and protection.

Testing & Commissioning of LV Switch gears. Testing of LV/MV Cables including AC/DC Hipot. Should have hands on experience in the preventive & corrective maintenance of all types and makes of battery chargers and UPS. Should be proficient in the corrective maintenance of battery chargers and UPS which includes locating and identifying the faults and make necessary repair to trouble shoot the fault. Should be able to identify the faults in the electronics cards, make repair by replacement of faulty components of the cards. Should have the knowledge of testing of the battery charger and the UPS. Should be able to provide emergency breakdown work for replacement or repair of Battery & Chargers. Shall be responsible for other panels which have electronic cards
