Lead Control Engineer (Maintenance)


Minimum Requirements:

B.Sc in a relevant engineering discipline and preferably a Charter Engineer.

Extensive specialist experience (minimum 15 years of instrumentation preferably in a maintenance environment at engineer level of particular relevance to the DCS (TDC 3000) and PLC systems in petrochemical Industries.

Part of this experience could be on the construction, design •and commissioning of DCS & PLC projects.

Good knowledge of spoken and written English, with capability of writing technical reports.


Responsibilities:

Liaises with Operations Division personnel in order to ensure understanding of problems and solutions to the DCS and PLC associated Instrument Systems.

Assists Instrument Maintenance Engineers in compiling trip reports, making recommendations where necessary, on modifications required to prevent trips re-occurrences.

Works closely with Instrument Maintenance personnel during equipment test runs, plant upsets, and start-ups. Collect information, compiles reports giving recommendations to ensure equipment reliability and minimize production down time.

Attends to materials queries from manufacturers, Purchasing & Stores Departments. Review and ensures materials and spares stock holdings are adequate for planned and potential work.

Carry out in-house training of Instrument Maintenance Staff on the DCS and PLC based systems.

Use own initiative for design and implementation of new Minor DCS and PLC changes.

Carry out call-out duties outside working hours for the DCS and PLC sections.

Uses initiatives for DCS and PLC control systems troubleshooting in the Process, Utilities, and Offsite areas of LNG Plant, report back his findings with proposals to prevent problems re-occurrences.

Carry out call-out duties outside working hours for the DCS and PLC sections.

Involves in daily/ weekly meetings with Senior and Lead Instrument Engineers, Operations and E&TSD system Engineers as required.

Follows ADGAS established policies and professional engineering standards.

Occasionally undertakes direct field supervision on Vendor Engineers and special work as required.
