Mechanical Engineer (Turnaround)


Minimum Requirements:

B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent .

Minimum of 10 years experience in maintenance, overhaul/shutdowns and application of mechanical equipment associated with the oil refining or petrochemical industry of which 5 years should have been in a professional/senior capacity.


Responsibilities:

Provides technical support & services for maintenance of the mechanical equipment associated with LNG Plant, includes installation, repairs and testing.

Ensures that adequate provision is made for the availability of spare parts and materials for all maintenance work including the periodic review of stores ‘stock holdings’, and the identification of ordering of direct materials.

Carries out technical reviews of all plant modifications work in accordance with company codes and practices. Ensures that such modifications are implemented utilising ‘in house’ or contract labour.

Provides technical advice on equipment selection, installation, design testing and commissioning of approved major projects.

Reviews revenue and capital expenditure on normal and scheduled Mechanical maintenance in accordance with approved budgets.

Provides opportunities for training and development of employees under his directions (with emphasis on UAE Nationals) and assesses their progress, this includes on-the-job training, counselling and proper work delegation.

Reviews test procedures and compile the necessary documentation. Updates technical data of all mechanical equipment for entry in SAP.

Carries out other related or similar duties such as, undertakes special studies / analysis as directed. Prepares tender scopes of work as required. Keeps abreast of changes in all relevant standards and improvements in associated technology, equipment, design and maintenance practices.

Carries out the Technical review & approval of all materials for the Turn Around, ensures materials comply with company standards and are correct specification for the duty. Performs technical evaluation of material bids including technical clarification to bidders through Procurement Department.

Review & Prepare Method statement identified major Turnaround activities, conduct Task Risk assessment (TRA), contribute in HAZOP meeting and takes an active part in HAZOP proceedings as mechanical specialist.
