Minimum Requirements:
20 years plus experience in the rail business;
Good Degree (Honours or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and chartered is preferred.
Previous experience in the successful leadership and delivery of major rail projects.Experience of working with major international contractors;
Ability to work collaboratively with the Rail team and peers in Middle East and throughout company.
A strong financial background;Good negotiation skills;Commercial acumen to assess opportunities and lead others in the relevant commercial and bidding processes to deliver growth;A high level of self management, commitment and trust, with an affinity with Atkins’ underlying values, and the stature to operate effectively at a senior level;
Duties Performed
Leading and directing a major rail projects bid team; position the company with the best opportunity for a successful bid; mobilising and directing the project team;
Engaging with the Rail Operations Director and Technical Authorities ensuring appropriate resource requirements are planned for a successful bid and mobilisation;
Engaging with the Client / Contractor to ensure the appropriate business relationships are established and maintained at all levels;
Adhere to and execute the company Group Major Projects bid process and internal Business Management System (BMS);
Maintain appropriate governance across the bid / mobilisation process that delivers the best quality, cost effectively, while appropriately managing risk;
Ensuring the business attracts, recruits, develops and retains the talent required to resource its project requirements; Being an active member of the Rail senior management team working together to deliver sustainable success; Work alongside the Rail MD to develop relationships with the Client / Contractor customer base.
