JD – Senior Quantity Surveyor


Minimum Requirements:

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be a qualified professional who must have a minimum qualification of BSc, BEng, BA or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, must be qualified and chartered (QS) by a recognized international body such as Chartered Institute of Buildings (CIOB) and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or as approved by the Engineer. The Senior Quantity Surveyor should have more than 14 years experience with 5 being similar to this project/role, regional experience is preferred. Experience in claims/arbitration procedures and methods is required.

Experience in the planning of major projects with particular emphasis on the utilization of computer programs such as Primavera or equally capable program for the planning and tracking of similar projects is a requirement. This person will also provide assistance to the team during negotiations, arbitration, or any other forms of dispute resolution. Computer literacy and excellent communication skills are essential.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will also be responsible for maintaining and enhancing company`s reputation with our clients and developing effective long term client relationships thus identifying and developing new opportunities for the Group.


Duties Performed

Report to the Senior Resident Engineer and will be assisted by the Quantity Surveyor

Manage, supervise and monitor the performance of subordinates to ensure quality and timeliness in delivery.

Certify works completed by the contractor, assess changes and document variation orders.

Claims analysis and make recommendations to the SRE.

Assist in the preparation of project status reports and production of curves.

Verify payment applications from the contractor and recommend payment

Request cost estimates from the contractor, validate these estimates and prepare the necessary Variation Orders and process same through PWA.

Assist in the preparation of the monthly report.
