Minimum Requirements
1. B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (or Chartered Engineer) or equivalent qualification.
2. 12 years Experience in Maintenance and application of Major Machinery including large Turbines, Compressors and Generators in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical industry, with at least 6 years in a Professional Engineering Role.
3. Fluent in English, both written and spoken and capable of writing technical reports.
4. Knowledge of Machinery related codes/standards.
Purpose and Scope
To carry out pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of the IGD Trains as per setup procedures. Attend all the tests as required for approval as company representative.
Plans, directs and supervises all Major Machinery and Maintenance system application Advisory service functions during the Project Commissioning, Provides 3rd party comments on ‘Modification’ proposals.
Duties Performed
Review project technical submissions to ensure compliance with the statement of requirements/applicable internal & international engineering standards. Identify exceptions.
Participate in Project Hazop/Safety review as part of multi-disciplinary team.
Participate in Project design audits as part of multi-disciplinary team.
Review installation procedure; prepare commissioning procedures from Project contractor as client representative.
Review and comment on proposed field design changes.
Maintain project documentation and correspondence files. Screen project correspondence for special attention.
Provide inputs for variation requests submitted by contractor.
Make recommendations for system maintainability, reliability improvement.
Prepare equipment spare part recommendations and prepare interchangeability charts
Prepare a reliability based maintenance program for all plant equipment based on vendor inputs and own experience and put in the SAP system.
Monitor the operational performance of main turbo compressors, steam and gas turbine generating sets using vibration analysis and other condition monitoring techniques.
Establish and maintain comprehensive maintenance records. Evaluate MTBF and undertake efforts to improve to industry best
Prepare/review maintenance schedules with emphasis on condition based maintenance.
Prepare rotor/component repair procedures. Liaise for repair with OEM or repair service companies.
Ensures that all as built drawings and documents are provided to Maintenance Department.
Issue Failure analysis reports as required. Actively contribute in troubleshooting task forces constituted by Management.
Direct all condition monitoring work in the plant. Advise Site Maintenance and Operations of incipient faults and recommend remedial course of action.
Maintain and order gadgets, special tools, spares and consumables for major machinery.
Provides technical assistance to Operations Division and trouble-shoot operational difficulties. Provides technical assistance to site Maintenance as required on small machinery troubleshooting, recommend improvements/ modifications, establish vendor liaison, provide inputs on upgrades, new plant selection and audits.
Review storage conditions of major machinery critical components and advise requirements.
Assist in the preparation of Budget – Capital and Major Revex items.
Provides opportunities for training and development of employees (with emphasis on UAE Nationals) and act as a mentor to Mechanical Engineering Developees.
Latitude
Reports to Maintenance Commissioning Team Leader. Plans and carries out assigned duties in accordance with established policies and procedure and professional engineering standards. Completed assignments are subject to review by Maintenance Commissioning Team Leader.
Supervisory Responsability
Provides functional direction to Mechanical Maintenance staff and to contracting Engineers/ Machinery Specialists.
